The Super Mario Bros. Movie was one of 2023’s biggest movies, and a sequel is on the way for 2026. Actor Keegan-Michael Key, who voices Toad, said in a new interview that the sequel will be “broader in scope” and will feature even more characters from the Mushroom Kingdom.
“One thing I can say about the second movie is that it’s a little broader in scope, and where it takes place is very intriguing lore…,” Key told Men’s Journal. “They’re going to find some really fantastic Easter eggs and it’s been very exciting so far.”
He added: “I feel like what they’ve done creatively is they’ve really widened out the universe that these characters live in and we’re going to meet some new folks.”

Dark Horse Comics has announced a new Borderlands comic, and GameSpot is pleased to be able to reveal it today as Borderlands: Moxxi’s Mysterious Memento. The four-issue mini-series debuts this November.
It’s written by Amy Chu (Red Sonja, Carmilla: The First Vampire), with its cover and interior art by Mike Norton (Hellboy). Borderlands comics veterans Heather Breckel did the coloring, while Deron Bennet created the lettering for Moxxi’s Mysterious Memento.

This week marks the 20th anniversary of Half-Life 2, Valve’s seminal first-person shooter and arguably one of the genre’s greatest games. To celebrate the occasion, Valve released a nearly two-hour documentary on the making of the game, which included the story of how Valve’s future was threatened by a lawsuit from its former publisher, Vivendi.
